the archive
pocket emerged from a multi-generational, deep-seated fascination for vintage audio gear, iconic technological wonders, and timekeeping. Stemming from roots in industrial and mechanical engineering and design — from the intricate designs of clocks to the marvels of structural innovations — passion is precise, clean, and enduring design.
Many are swayed by the aesthetics of contemporary tech, often equating new with better. But, have you ever experienced the mechanical marvel of a vintage timepiece? Or the warmth of a well-maintained turntable? Sure, modern devices have their place. Here, we celebrate the elegance of timeless design.
Operated solely by a dedicated enthusiast (yours truly), every piece within these walls is a testament to design and functionality. They're preserved, often serviced, and always ready to evoke a sense of wonder. All pieces are either pieces I own, once owned, or have experienced in one way or another. Most of my past archivism has been private, however I will continue to publish my archival work on here.
The primary purpose of pocket is to be an archive. I don't make any money from this, so it is non-commercial in nature. It is a place of reference for interesting things which are often overlooked and therefore under-documented. Restoration and archival of electronics and fine mechanical machines is my bread and butter. We're here to archive, advise, and even help you assemble a collection that lasts many lifetimes over.
